Walter Bond reminds us how important like-ablity is

After Craig Marowitz rocked the house at the Speaker Reception… Walter Bond rocked the Union League at the November BCA Hospitality Breakfast! If you weren’t awake when you got there at 7am this morning, that changed quickly when Walter took the stage! Coming out yelling  “You Suck”… “Get tough”…quickly turned into incredible life lessons from his basketball recruiting days and career in the NBA. In case you weren’t able to jot everything down, we captured a few of his key points below.

  • Focus on the fundamentals
  • Whose voice are you listening to?
  • Suck it up, get tough
  • Be likable!
  • 20% of his revenue comes from his smile
  • People wanna buy from people they like
  • Stop selling products…Start selling hopes and dreams
  • A resume is one of the most overrated documents in business
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Not about the quantity of your words…But the quality of what you say
  • Make your employees feel like they are a little bit better than what they actually are

Thanks to all the BCA team responsible for BOND, Walter Bond, experience (sorry couldn’t resist). One of the most entertaining motivation speakers I have ever heard – and I have been around the block a few times! He WAS his speech! Thoroughly enjoyed myself and a message I believe that will resonate within us all for quite sometime. Honestly, after simply reading his bio, I was not expecting to be blown away like I was (which makes his resume comment hit home as well). ENJOY YOUR TURKEY EVERYONE.
