The Race Against Diabetes; #TourdeCure 6/6/15 #BCAProud @AmDiabetesAssn @MaryPatKessler

Together we can STOP diabetes! I am determined to be part of the force that finds the cure!

This Saturday, June 6th I will cycle 63 miles in the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure fundraising event. Please support me by clicking on my link below. Each mile I ride, and the funds I raise will be used in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

No matter how small or large, your generous gift will help improve the lives of nearly 26 million Americans who suffer from diabetes and will reverse the trend in which 1 out of 3 children will face a future with diabetes.

I am involved as a board member and riding for my sister Anne, who has lived with this insidious disease most of her life. Seven years ago, Anne’s kidney’s failed from complications of Type 1 diabetes. I was fortunate and humbled to donate my kidney to save her life. Anne is doing great, however is still living with Type 1 diabetes. She is a beautiful wife and mother to three wonderful children, Olivia, Sophia and Bobby. I am so grateful for her life! Unfortunately, not all diabetics are as fortunate and die from their complications, especially heart and kidney failure. I am determined to be part of the force that finds the cure!

Thank you for making a generous contribution to this cause that is so important to me.

-Mary Pat Kessler, BCA Director of Member Relations
